Description: This is a hoop skirt that was sewn by Sam Houston's great granddaughter Margaret John Decker Aurand Everitt in the 1950's or 60's. She wore it to the daughter of the Confederacy, DAR type events. She is pictured with the dress at one of those events. She was the wife of Lieutenant General Aurand and mother of Vice Admiral Aurand. This was bought directly from the family. I guess it is of satin and includes the hoop. My daughter that is wearing it is not included. It is a little large and tall for her. She is 5' 4" and 120. I suspect someone 130-135 and 5"5-5'7" would be happy with it. This is a semi antique, so there are some light stains in the arm pit and 1-2 tiny imperfections in the fabric. (I have shown 1.) It is a historic dress and great to wear! eMail me with questions.
