Description: History of the Town of Lakeville Mass Next 25 Years 1953-1978 Vintage Booklet Measures: 9" x 6"78 PagesIncludes separate flyer from Founders Day 1978 The Next Twenty-five Years 1953 1978 This is to be considered an extension to the History of the Town of Lakeville (1853 - 1953) by Gladys DeMaranville Viers. There are articles herein which she did not have time to include and meet the centennial deadline. It is hoped to show the growth of our town these past twenty-five years. If we have left out names it is not intentional. In the past twenty-five years there have been a number of departments, boards, committees and commissions added to our governmental structure, i.e. Planning Board, Conservation Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Historical Commission, Full time Public Health Nurse, Development and Industrial Commission, Veterans' Benefits and Council On Aging. Twenty-five years ago our population was approximately 2,200; and today it is 5,118.
