Description: This Victoria-era, British cover(w/ pretty clean, monogrammed envelope printed for officers; the back flap is intact, but has a tear in it caused upon the mail being opened) was sent by a British Navy sailor serving aboard the H.M.S. Cambridge, a gunnery ship normally used for training in Devonport! It was mailed from the Weymouth P.O. on July 22, 1894, and arrived at Devonport(a superb receiving CDS!) the next day after going through the Castletown Portland(a great, transit CDS!) P.O. on the 22nd! As for the lilac, 1-Pence, QV GB issue, it's in fine condition! Noted imperfections aside, this looks to be a unique, nifty piece of British Naval postal history!
