Description: This is an extraordinary 1886 Hobbs Brockunier HAND BLOWN 'external ribs', or crimped, Bride's Bowl. It was made with their uranium formula and custard colored ivory cased glass with lavish spangles of gold between the layers of glass. The bowl is about 9 1/2" in diameter, 4" deep, the bottom is about 6 1/2" wide and the weight is 2 lbs. 1 oz. The pontil is smooth, not polished. The pictures are breathtaking, be certain to look at each one! Hobbs Bruckunier was a premier glass maker of the 19th century and employed some of the best glass makers in the country. This bowl is a remarkable example of their sublime artistry!
