Description: What a wonderful story that surrounds this Hopi Piki bowl! The very dear friend i acquired it from owned it for her entire life. She re-found it a few years ago in a neglected storeroom of her Bacavi home. She told me it was made by her paternal grandmother, who lived in Old Oraibi at the turn of the century. It was in her grandmother's possession in the Oraibi Split of 1906, and was carried with her and her husband, and their infant son, to the location that would become Hotevilla. A year later, her grandmother, grandfather and father endured the second split, and left to build the pueblo of Bacavi. This bowl followed them all the way. If only it could talk! This beautiful piki bowl is 13 inches in diameter and 5 inches tall. It is in gorgeous, perfect condition. There are tiny remnants of red piki inside, and on the outside are the deep puki striations, from the basket it was started in, more than a century ago. It is a priceless artifact of great historical importance, and will be a treasured addition to any collection. Buy with confidence, for as you all know, if the buyer is unsatisfied for ANY reason, i will immediately return the full purchase price, all shipping included. Please don't let this historical opportunity pass you by. Many Thanks for your kind consideration, and sincere congratulations in advance to the very lucky buyer. Best Regards, Always, Rich
