The Cincinnati Museum Center holds 1000 pottery vessels collected by Riggs,American archaeologist involved in the unscientific excavation of Native American burial mounds in Eastern Arkansas in the 1880s. His collection was on display at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893 and subsequently acquired by the Field Museum. Much of the collection was subsequently dispersed to public and private collections, including approximately fifty pottery vessels exchanged with the British Museum in 1901. [British Museum website]
