An important issue of the *Provincetown Review,* a short-lived periodical published in seven numbers (between 958-1968), this issue containing the first appearance of *Tralala,* a short story by Hubert Selby, Jr., which resulted in obscenity charges and a trial, against the publisher of the *Provincetown Review,* William Ward, by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In the winter of 1961, *Provincetown Review* 5, printed a 62-page transcript of the "Provincetown Review Trial," concerning the obscenity trial which included testimony by Stanley Kunitz, Norman Podhoretz, Allen Tate, Seymour Krim, and others. The publisher was found guilty of obscenity, resulting in a $1000 fine; upon appeal the Massachusetts District Attorney dropped the charges.
