MEXICAN ETNO-FUSION: A genre that emerged in Mexico during the 80's, when some progressive rock musicians began to use pre-Hispanic instruments with the intention of creating a new and unique type of music, which also rescued part of the identity of the ancient pre-Hispanic civilizations. These authors even worked on research to duplicate instruments that disappeared from the ancient cultures of Mexico, such as the Aztec or Maya, among many others. This type of music includes elements of Rock, Jazz, Electronic Music, Contemporary Classical, Ambient, Folk, etc.Humberto Álvarez, producer, composer, accordionist, keyboardist and multi-instrumentalist. He began his career in the progressive band Música y Contra Cultura (1980-1984), in 1986 he collaborated with Jorge Reyes, La Tribu and Arturo Meza on the album Comala, in 1991 he founded the group Sangre Asteka alongside José Manuel Aguilera (La Barranca , Jaguares) Writes and sings in Nahuatl from 1992 to date. He has been playing Tibetan bowls since 1997 to date.Omasik Mestli is a selection from "Malinalxochitl" (1993), "Copil" (1995) and "Teonanakatl" (1999), a trilogy of albums about ancient mexican indian cosmovision.
