Excellent New Condition Model 001 Re-created using original 19th century exemplars, the Model 001 is turned from professional quality northern ash. It is meant to conjure the feeling of the heavy lumber of the past, and the fine craftsmanship that went with it. It is entirely, and impeccably, finished by hand. Finely detailed throughout, from the hand painted rings to the hand rubbed finish, this bat will not disappoint. Similar to the Model 000 in length, the Model 001 is slightly more substantial in weight. Measuring 35.5 inches in length, and weighing a shade under 40 ounces, this bat replicates the hefty bruisers that were in use during the latter decades of the 19th century. Nearly-straight tapered from the handle to the barrel, the barrel tops out at around 2.43 inches in diameter while the thinnest portion of the handle measures in at 1.25". A truly substantial bat, that while heavy, feels incredibly balanced. While these bats are finely crafted and present beautifully on display, they are just as comfortable on the ball field. Each bat in the collection is designed for use by anyone, from the pluckiest novice to the most dedicated vintage ballist.
