Hygroryza aristata - 2x 6" Stems - Floating, Grass-like Aquarium Plant

Description: All our plants are homegrown in hobbyist tanks and are adapted to submersed conditions. In this case, as a floating plant, this is adpated to floating conditions. Picture is a representative photo of the portion you will receive. Hygroryza aristata is our favorite floating plant as it propagates along a single stem, and as such, it is very easy to break up and pull from an aquarium. Very easy to controll, population-wise. It also sports very bushy root structures that don't get terribly long like water lettuce or frogbit. Great spawning medium for rainbows, ricefish, and other fish who would otherwise use artificial spawning mops. H. aristata also has a very unqiue appearance, which could lend itself to scaping biotypic and pond/natural style aquariums. CONDITION: Our tanks do naturally have some amount of algae, no matter how stable they are so there may be a little GHA, BBA, or other algae present, but the overall health of the plant will be great. Tanks are routinely checked for duckweed so it is VERY likely these plants will be free of duckweed, but there is always a chance one leaf or two somehow gets through. Quarantining plants is always a good practice! Plants are grown in CO2, w/ ferts, though ALL CAN be grown low-tech (several of ours are in low-tech setups as well).
