IAN CARR'S NUCLEUS We'll Talk About It Later LP/1971 UK/FUSION JAZZ-ROCK MONSTER

Description: NUCLEUS 'We'll Talk About It Later' LP (UK, Be With Records, Catalogue #BEWITH126LP) Brand new/unplayed copy of limited year 2023 Be With Records label LP edition of 1971 UK JAZZ ROCK MONSTER! album (originally released in 1971 in the UK on the legendary Vertigo Records label) entitled We'll Talk About It Later by Ian Carr's Nucleus! If you were wanting another band to listen to that could go toe-to-toe with none other than Miles Davis's own contemporaneous electric era groups, these Nucleus cats were it! (quite fitting, too, seeing as how Ian Carr is a top biographer of and lifetime expert on Davis himself.) A highly anticipated reissue (following on from the Jazzman label's sensational Don Rendell/Ian Carr Quintet reissues from several years ago, the issuance of which caused a worldwide frenzy of jazzbo maniacs going wild in acquiring those long out of print and highly coveted holy grails of British Modal Jazz) and once again, Be With Records has knocked it out of the park with this slab. We'll Talk About It Later is a highly recommended addition to your record shelves if you have even only just the faintest tangential interest in the sound and waxings of the top monsters of '70s Funk Fusion Jazz Rock. If your interest in this arena already runs deep, acquisition of We'll Talk About It Later is as mandatory as it gets! (NOTE: ALL RECORDS ARE PACKED AND SHIPPED IN PROFESSIONAL, SUPERIOR QUALITY RECTANGULAR SHAPED, CORNER PROTECTING CORRUGATED CARDBOARD RECORD MAILERS WITH FILLER PADS. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED!) (NOTE: BRAND NEW/FACTORY SEALED ITEM!) (NOTE: LIMITED VINYL EDITION!) With breaks for days and an almost ambient, heavy jazz atmosphere throughout, this is the apex of British jazz-rock fusion. We'll Talk About It Later was first released on Vertigo in 1971 and original copies are now very tricky to score. Genius trumpeter and visionary composer Ian Carr was one of the most respected British musicians of his era. He was a true pioneer and saw the potential in fusing the worlds of jazz with rock, just as Miles Davis and The Tony Williams Lifetime did in the US. We'll Talk About It Later is arguably Nucleus's best album. Not only that, it's in the top five of all fusion albums. By the time Nucleus entered Trident Studios in September 1970 to record Elastic Rock's successor, they had already won a best group award at the Montreux Jazz Festival. The group work and insane musicianship Nucleus were famed for is in evidence from the off. The intensely funky "Song for the Bearded Lady" features counterpoint riffing segues into a spacious groove and a Carr trumpet solo demonstrating the influence of electric Miles from the period. The stop-start funk of "Sun Child" would appeal to Soft Machine devotees whilst the genuinely touching "Lullaby For A Lonely Child" is a lovely downtempo ballad. Featuring an understated, reflective horn line from Carr and Brian Smith and atmospheric, shimmering bouzouki from Chris Spedding, there's an exotic flavor which contributes to the bliss. The ominous, sleazy title track retains a swaggering menace and is not the only track to lend a sort of heavy stoner rock atmosphere. The guitars and bass are deep and low throughout, conjuring heavy psych moments to go with the actual jazz and even funk. To say this album was in conversation with Bitches Brew would not be overstating the sheer brain-frying brilliance. The Weather Report-adjacent "Oasis" opens Side B, a colossal track featuring nearly ten minutes of steadily building melodic horns, keys and choppy guitar riffs. Spedding adds unique vocals to the undeniable groove of "Ballad of Joe Pimp" whilst saxophonist Smith's duet with drummer John Marshall at the conclusion of "Easter 1916" -- inspired by the Yeats poem about the Irish nationalist uprising in Dublin -- adopts the wildness of the most incendiary free jazz. When packaging up records that are non-factory sealed items (as is standard for many import releases) or are open "used" items for shipment, we remove the LP and inner-sleeve from the album cover and place them on the outside of the cover to protect the cover from being subjected to any potential seam-splitting during transit. When packaging up factory sealed records for shipment, we leave the item sealed, intact, as is. HOWEVER. If a customer REQUESTS that we unseal a factory sealed record to send with the LP and inner sleeve on the outside of the cover (to protect the cover from any potential seam-splitting during transit) we will do so. Please be sure to make this request of unsealing your record for shipment if that is your packaging preference. When packaging up non-factory sealed items (or factory sealed items that have been unsealed at the buyer's request) that have custom company or other manner of printed inner-sleeves, we remove the record from those printed inner sleeves (returning the printed inner sleeves back into the album cover) and place them inside brand new, generic white paper inner sleeves, which are then placed on the outside of the album cover to protect both the album cover AND the original printed inner sleeves from being subjected to any potential seam splitting during transit. We do this for all new AND used items that are in our stock. All LPs, be they new or used, are sheathed inside of new, protective plastic outer sleeves (with the exceptions of space or weight limitations that may occur with packaging your items - such exceptions will take place when they allow for a lower cost of shipping charged for your total order.)We go the extra mile to protect and preserve your items, folks! With but a few exceptions (odd size combined orders or other package configurations and considerations...)All 12" records are sent to you packaged in quality 15" x 1" x 13" rectangular shaped corrugated cardboard LP mailers. All 10" records are sent to you packaged in quality 13" x 1" x 13" square shaped corrugated cardboard LP mailers. All 7" records are sent to you packaged in quality 8" x 1" x 8" square shaped corrugated cardboard 7" record mailers. All Compact Discs are sent to you packaged in quality 7" x 1" x 5" rectangular shaped cardboard CD mailers. All Cassettes are sent to you packaged in quality 5 1/2" x 1" x 3" rectangular shaped cardboard Cassette mailers(Note: Cassettes sent to international addresses will be packaged in a larger box of some appropriate size configuration to accommodate the size and application of mailing/customs labels sent to international addresses.)All Cassettes and CDs or records that come packaged in odd-sized or odd-custom packaging are sent to you in quality corrugated cardboard boxes of various unspecified dimensions, with various sorts of interior padding (styrofoam peanuts, bubble wrap, cardboard filler pads, etc.) to protect and preserve your items. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If you have any questions about any items that we have in stock or anything else, please feel free to inquire with us at any time (we are at your service and will get back to you with answers to your questions as soon as possible.)----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR ALL OF OUR CUSTOMERS (be they first time customers or our many repeat customers) and WE GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR PATRONAGE!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
