Description: IAN FLEMING - MOONRAKER, published by Jonathan Cape, copyright 1955, First Printing First State or First Issue (states "First Published 1955" on copyright page with no references to subsequent printings, ULTRA RARE First State/Issue with "shoo" on at bottom right on page 10 per Gilbert pg. 95-96 as the 2nd state has the corrected "t" - it is estimated that only 20% of the print run had the missing "t"), white endpapers, list in front of book to "Live and Let Die", corredt 1st state DJ has blank rear flap (with just the title/price in tiny lettering to bottom left corner) & reviews for Casino Royale & Live And Let Die on rear panel, white endpapers, black boards with silver gilt lettering to spine & front board, 13s. 6d. net price on DJ front flap. Book has no creased page corners, squared outer page corners, no foxing to pages or endpapers or outer page edges (rare to find this book completely free of foxing), just a hint of age darkening to outer page edges (no dust soiling), no former owner's markings or used book store stamps/stickers inside, endpapers are clean and free from scotch tape residue marks or other discoloration, no internal hinge splitting, no spine lean, no wear to board edges or board corners or spine tips, no bumped board corners, no wear/oxidizing to lettering on spine or front board, no soiling or staining to boards. Dust Jacket has had no restoration - no chipping or tearing or creasing, just a hint of wear to spine tips, virtually no wear to front flap crease, no wear to left/right on spine, slight edge wear along top edge is only real defect, hint of dust soiling to white rear panel (common defect with this DJ), age darkening along flap creases and top edge only, NONE OF THE USUAL SUN FADING TO THE COLORED FLAMES ON SPINE (again very very common defect with this DJ), no soiling or staining, no scotch tape glue staining to flaps, no color rubbing to front panel. Overall a FINE-/N-FINE book in FINE- condition original 1st state dust jacket (not price clipped) of an Ian Fleming U.K. 1st printing hardcover book. Therefore, in most cases, the first time that the Post Office will show anything when you check the delivery confirmation number is when the package hits your local post office/sorting center (basically the day before its delivered to you). Occasionally (about 25% of the time) a package will get scanned at the Federal Way, WA transfer station, but in the vast majority of the cases the delivery confirmation won't show anything until basically the day before you get the package.
