Description: This Icom IC-02AT VHF FM HAM Transceiver is a reliable and high-quality device. It comes with the 12 volt charger. I charged it overnight, the radio turned on and started receiving. The battery pack will need replacing because they only held a charge for one day. Volume and squelch all work as they should. There are a number of after market battery replacements for this radio. Note: that the mic/spkr is Tip/Sleeve (see pix) not Tip/Ring/Sleeve like the newer generation of HT's. The IC-HM9 mic/spkr is 100% compatible with this radio.Bottom line, operates, charges but batteries are very weak.
