Description: Quarter-plate daguerreotype of Catharine Wistar Morris (1772-1859), possibly taken by BROADBENT, though there is no photographer imprint anywhere. I received a message from another collector that they believed the photographer was Southworth & Hawes. Catharine was from the prominent Morris family of Philadelphia, who were Quakers, some of their members being abolitionists. She is buried at Friends Arch Street Meeting House Burial Ground. Dag is sealed, in full, push-button pebbled leather case and is in excellent condition. 7880F
