Description: Quite an impressive French, mid 18th century, carved oak provincial tall case clock. In the Regency/Louis XV style of the time, having a scrolled foliate decorated hood in an overall organic style and enamel dial with Roman numerals. Movement is a later Louis Boname movement with a time and strike mechanism. Strike with a clear and mellow sound. The trunk with single arched door, and rising on a stepped plinth base. The mechanism marked for Louis Boname. From a Private Collection, Highlands, North Carolina. Striking size at approximately h. 107.75", w. 14.5", d. 8.5".
