The four spearhead inlays are simulated iron. The shield boss on this magnificent shield is real 12 gauge hammered blackened steel. Each shield has its own unique hand painted blood spatter as if taken fresh from the battle field. The battleworn detailed finish simulates a true one of a kind shield as seen on the History channels' series The Vikings. The inside of the shield has a brown stain and oak wood handle wrapped with genuine black calfskin leather. Message us for a custom battleworn finished Viking shield.
