Description: I.W. Rice Irice Japan Perfume Bottle Cubed Blue & Clear & Atomizer Hand Cut For consideration is this vintage 1950s hand cut cube shaped perfume bottle in clear and blue with intaglio flowers made for Irice in Japan. It also features a matching blue atomizer and a gold filigree edged flower with a prong set Lucite cabochon top. The brass-looking metal portion of the bottle unscrews for filling the bottle with your favorite fragrance. There is a spot in the photos that turns out to be glue residual which has since been removed. This perfume bottle measures 3½ inches tall including the top flower and the bottle measures 1¾ inches by 1¾ inches. Although this is not marked, I searched and found a pink version of this bottle with silver and blue foil stickers intact which read “IRICE Imports Made In Japan” and “Hand Cut”. It is in excellent vintage condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or discoloration noted. Buyer will receive FREE shipping. Thank you for looking! Rice, gave an abbreviation of his name to the company, which has appeared on the distinctive silver and blue foil labels ever since - IRICE. They didn’t actually manufacture the perfume bottles so the perfume atomizers and bottles came in a wide variety of modes from many, diverse countries. IRICE brought in box-car loads of Czechoslovakian crystal before World War II. During the war, IRICE employed American companies. After the war ended, they began importing again, but this time from West Germany and later, sometime in the 1950s from Japan.
