Description: I*XL-Schrade Wostenholm Snap-on Matched Commerative Set SN#1152Never Carried/Used/Sharpened/Polished/Cleaned -- Please see photos for size and condition.A very rare vintage special edition set of three Schrade IXL Wostenholm folding knives made exclusively for Snap-On Tools. Each knife comes with a matching genuine leather sheath. Only 3,000 of these handcrafted were produced for SNAP -ON TOOLS. These knives were made in Sheffield England.All of the IXL knives have solid nickel silver engraved bolsters, brass liners and stainless steel blades. Each one is deep struck with the traditional hallmark. The master blades are etched with the company banner and each knife in the set has the matching serial number. This set is serial # 1152.All three are single blade lock back knives with stag handles and nickel silver engraved bolsters. The largest knife measures 4-3/4" closed and has a 3-3/4" clip point blade. The middle one measures 4-1/18" closed and has a 3" straightback blade. The smallest knife measures 3-1/4" closed and has a 2-1/4" drop point blade. All the knives have genuine sambar stag handles. The tang of each blade is marked "IXL - SCHRADE / WOSTENHOLM". The blades are etched "SCHRADE/IXL/WOSTENHOLM". and "SHEFFIELD ENGLAND", with the dates "1787" (when the IXL Trademark was granted). Each knife has a Schrade hallmark deep struck on the pommel SW/Profile head 1", similar to the old-time Sheffield assay office marks.Each knife is serial numbered on the bolster 1152. Each of the sheaths are marked "IXL". All these knives and sheaths are fitted in the box with "Made Exclusively for Snap-On" on the lid.These knives are in excellent condition. The black cardboard box is in good shape with only one corner torn . If you want a very rare set of Schrade knives, do not miss this set.
