Item description:Wonderful sculpture in pure light green jade depicting a fish, exactly the Gold Fish, also called Veiltail fish, or also called Koi fighting fish, symbol of auspiciousness and good luck for China. Extremely rare sculpture to find of the highest artistic level, dating back to the second half of the 19th century, Qing dynasty, equipped with an old hand-carved solid mahogany wood base. In some photos there are small white reflections, which may seem like small chips, but instead they are simply reflections of light, due to the great quality of the jade used, in fact in the photos in which the fish is spinning the reflections always appear in different points, there is just a small crack on the part where the tail is connected to the body of the fish.Useful information for evaluating the object: We have placed just below this description photos of similar fish, smaller, very more recent and of significantly lower quality than ours, offered from €235 up to €625 for a pair of similar sculptures.
