Description: A beautiful shifter/console trim surround and matching ashtray unit for your Jaguar XJ 1990-1994 (XJ40 chassis) The "ski-slope" shifter trim will only fit the XJ40 1990-1994 WITH the sport/transmission switch cut-out at the bottom. - (Will NOT fit 1986-1989)Carefully removed from a very clean 1992 XJ6 Soverign. If you have a 1993-1994, you may need to replace the magnet latch on the ashtray with the hooked latch for the late-style cup holder armrest. The ashtray door opens properly with a touch of the button and closes with one touch. The ashtray door "soft open" gear is working perfectly. Good, tested internal backlight. The ashtray socket is solid with good clips - no loose parts The wood is in excellent shape with nice color and amazing finish. There is one clearcoat crack/flaw in the ashtray wood finish. (see close-up) It is clean and bright. There are 2 fine hairline clear coat cracks on the shifter trim (see close-ups)Slight discoloration from age but looking excellent. Bright finish with great shine.Matching parts with the same wood batch number. All mounting points are 100% intact. The ashtray insert and lighter are clean. Zero cracks or stressed areas in the shifter trim rear core backing. Includes mounting hardware and the armrest latch piece as shown.
