I don't believe the pot ever came with a lid/cover. Each piece is clearly stamped with the makers identification. The detail and workmanship is amazing and you wont find a set from this era (1875 to 1891) in better condition. There is no damage, wear or flaws. A light polishing might enhance the shine, but there is no heavily tarnished areas. This set was clearly very well cared for and received little use. I contemplated selling individual pieces, or as a set. I believe this was purchased as a complete set, therefore, it should remain as a set.
