Description: Jan Savitt Autographed Original Photo Legendary Bandleader / Violinist D.48 A 5x8" photo autographed by Jan Savitt. Savitt (born September 4, 1907 – October 4, 1948), known as "The Stokowski of Swing", after having played violin in Stokowski's orchestra, was an American bandleader, musical arranger, and violinist. Photo has some glue stainuing on the front, scrapbook residue on the back, otherwise nice with a signature that I would grade at 7/10. Provenance: We are proud to offer a part of a significant and important Jazz autograph collection that we just picked up. An amazing autograph album with all of the signatures obtained in 1941 and/or 1942 with some truly one of a kind offering, all obtained in person at the time in glorious fountain pen (unless noted) and all without personalizations. Scan down in some instances for additional scans if provided. The second offering obtained was from a dedicated collector named Robert Bierman who corresponded with Jazz legends through the mail. Please note that there may appear to be a very small blemish on the left side of the item, which I discovered was on the scan glass after the fact.
