The great typographer, calligrapher and book designer Jan Tschichold guest edited an insert in the October 1925 special issue of the journal of the association of German book printers, Typographische Mitteilungen, entitled Elementare Typographie (devoted to "The New Typography"). This facsimile of the 1925 publication of Elementare Typographie includes contributions by, i.a., Otto Baumberger, Herbert Bayer, Max Burchartz, Kurt Schwitters, and Iwan [i.e., Jan] Tschichold. Printed in red and black throughout. The new 12-page foreword (not part of the original issue) is by Olaf Leu, the German Liaison Chairman of the Type Directors Club of New York. Text in German.
