Description: This exquisite hand warmer is a precious gem from the Japanese Edo period. The Edo period or Tokugawa period is the period between 1603 and 1868. The beautiful hibachi is made of Sugi wood, renowned for its durability and natural elegance. The interior of the hand warmer is lined with bronze, adding to its antique charm. The piece showcases the exceptional craftsmanship of ancient Japan and can be a valuable addition to any collection of Asian antiques. The hand warmer is not only functional but also a work of art, perfect for those who appreciate the beauty of traditional Japanese design. It measures 12" wide by 7.5" tall. It has 2 cracks on the lid, one of which is a hairline, but with the other the attached lining stabilizes it. The lid does not fit completely flush all the way in the pot. You can see it in the photos. (I did not want to force it all the way in.) The wood overall shows wear and grain separation a little. The bronze handles are still securely attached. Due to the rarity of this piece, a signature will be required when delivered. This is an antique pre-owned item, please do not expect "perfect" or "new" condition.
