Description: Photos of actual item you are purchasing. This is rare, original pair of JBL Control 1 professional bookshelf speakers, from Japan. I recently purchased this pair directly from Japan just to get a set of original JBL MTC-2+ speaker mounts that came with them. (You see, the mounts also fit my JBL Pro IIIs that I use for both my surrounds and rears. I couldn't find a pair of mounts available anywhere else, so I bought the whole set just to get the mounts for my Pro IIIs.) This particular pair was manufactured and sold for the Japanese market. The grills have "Control 1X" on the badges, but if you look at the back, they are simply labeled "Control 1". There are a few other ways to tell the original, Japanese Control 1. They have "JBL Incorporated" embossed on the back, but do not have "Northridge, California" below it. They do not read "JBL Professional" anywhere on them at all. Nor do they say "Made in China" or "Made by JBL in China". (They also pre-date the threaded brass fitting on the back of later, reproduction models since either side or the bottom can be fastened directly to a JBL MTC-1, MTC-2, MTC-2+ or MTC-3 speaker mount.) The surrounds of the woofers were professionally replaced in Japan about three years ago, from behind the cone, as they were originally from the factory. They are really in great shape and sound AMAZING for such an unassuming sized speaker. Luckily for you, I just don't need them. I only wanted the mounting brackets that came with them. Will be shipped with original JBL styrofoam packaging for added safety. The JBL Control 1 delivers excellent sound and is ideal even for the most demanding near-field audio applications.
