Description: On offer, we have a wonderful Art Deco woodblock by Jean Negulesco. It is signed in the print "Jean Negulesco 35". This wonderful portrait is on thin handmade paper measuring 9" X 11" including the margins. It comes in a folded manila paper hand signed in ink "Merry Christmas! Jean Negulesco". About the artist: Jean Negulesco (1900-1993) was a Romanian - American artist who became a famous film director and screenwriter. The art world lost much when Negulesco changed careers; but without his decision, we would not have classic movies like Johnny Belinda, How To Marry A Millionaire, Titanic or Three Coins In The Fountain. He was called "the first real master of Cinemascope". To me, he was a master artist. I am not an expert on art but believe this is in excellent condition. The print is bright, bold, clean and clear. There are pieces of tape on the back from when this was once in a matte. The folded paper has a mark on the back. Please view my photographs for more description. This is from my friend who is moving to a much smaller home and parting with some of his treasures. I will be happy to answer any questions and, of course, combine your shipping.
