JENNIFER BLOOD Vol 1 #1 (2011) Garth Ennis; Tim Bradstreet cover

Description: This is the first appearance of Garth Ennis creation, Jennifer Blood, series 1, issue #1, from 2011, art from Adriano Batista. It has all the hallmarks of a Garth Ennis book, most notably violence and dark humour, but with a female vigilante at it's heart - a wife and mother by day who sets out on a mission of vengeance once her loved ones are asleep. The story is followed by a 3 page interview with Garth Ennis, and character design sketches from Batista. This is a clean, flat, tight, sharp-cornered, book, with a nice glossy richly coloured cover, and supple pages all secure to the book's staples. The only flaws are minor ones which have no effect on eye-appeal, but do have to be taken account of in grading. There are 6 spine indents or stresses with fine hairlines of colour crack in their roots; the heaviest being about an inch and a half from the base of the spine. There are also a couple of small points of light surface wear on the character's gun-holding arm, probably from someone carelessly pulling open the cover to flick through the pages, but only apparent when tilting the book back and forth beneath a light source to examine. With this minimal amount of wear, I believe the book comfortably meets Overstreet criteria for VF, and might get VF+ with some sellers. This comic will be dispatched backed and bagged, securely packed in a sturdy bookmailer - I do not use car-backed A4 envelopes or bubble-wrap . to see it reaches you in the same condition it leaves me! I use Royal Mail rather than Evri, Yodel, or DHL. I've been collecting comics for over 50 years. In that time I've upgraded much of my collection, resulting in extra copies of many issues. In addition, there are series' I have collected which I don't feel the need to take to the grave! I am therefore seeking to reduce the size of my collection by selling off my duplicates and items no longer of interest. As a continuing collector myself, I really want buyers to be happy with their purchase, whatever condition it is in, and I always try to grade carefully, using Overstreet criteria.
