About the time Otis Norcross became mayor of Boston, the firm name was changed to Howland & Jones, and on the death of Mr. Ichabod Howland in 1871 it became, as now known, Jones, McDuffee & Stratton . For more than forty years Mr. Jones has been connected with the firm of which he is now the senior partner. His thorough and intimate knowledge of the business has naturally made him a leading member of associations formed in connection with the crockery business . He is an ex-president of the Boston Earthenware Association , and is a member of the executive committee of the National Association of Wholesalers in Crockery and Glassware . He is also prominent in mercantileand commercial bodies of more general character, being president of the Commercial Club and ex-president of the Boston Associated Board of Trade, an organization composed of delegates from twenty-five of the various mercantile and trade associations of Boston .
