Description: Up for bid is a very rare Wollastonite specimen from Mexico. This fluoresces Yellow under SW UV (First Picture), Yellow with some Pinkish-Yellow areas under MW UV (Second picture) and dimmer Yellow under LW UV (Third Picture). Last pictures is under White Light. This specimen came from the Charles Trantham dealer stock. There was a handwritten note that said “Wollastonite, Mexico, Gift from Jack JoJo Trelawney 11/22/1987”. I did some research on Mindat and found an identical looking specimen with the location given as “Santa Fé Mine, Pichucalco, Pichucalco Municipality, Chiapas, Mexico” so I am using that as the locality. I have never heard of fluorescent Wollastonite from Mexico before. If anyone has any additional information on fluorescent Wollastonite from Mexico, please contact me.
