Free Formed Mosaic Venetian Glass Ashtray 6 1/4" Yellow Multicolor JiCo 1960s

Description: I have owned this gorgeous ashtray for around 25 years. I always thought it was Murano, but I recently learned that it is Venetian (same area in Italy, but not exactly the same place.) These bowls, or ashtrays, were made for the Jordan Importing Company, sometime in the 1960s (between 1963-1970). They were labeled as "Unusual Venetian Glass Ashtrays" in the JiCo catalog. They were made as multicolored mosaics speckled into bright borders of red, blue, green, or yellow. This one is yellow. The base glass is clear, with yellow being the predominant color. There are splashes of green, red, blue, and white into or over the dominant yellow. It's a free-formed shape with ridges running up the sides of the bowl, and each ridge splits into two spikes or pillars at the top of the bowl. Except for one that got missed, each spike contains a large bubble (or two medium size bubbles in a couple of them). The ashtray is 6 1/4 inches wide at the top, and 6 3/8 inches wide at the widest place. The polished bottom is 1 7/8 inches wide. The bowl is 3 1/4 inches tall. It weighs 2 pounds. This gorgeous ashtray/bowl is in very good condition, with no cracks, chips or scratches on the top or inside. There is a tiny chip on the edge of the polished bottom, which is about 1/4" long by 1/16" wide. It's right at the base of one of the ridges going down the side of the bowl. There are 3 minuscule nicks at the bases of two other ridges. There is a short scratch on the polished bottom, which is about 1/8" long. It was never used as an ashtray while in my possession. I used it as a decorative bowl to hold pretty glass candy. (I also use colorful ashtrays to hold polished rocks, and marbles. Ours is a non-smoking household.) With all the yellow in the glass, some might expect it to be uranium glass. I assure you that it is not. Two photos taken in black light show that it does not glow. (Maybe just the tiniest smidge of selenium glow on the tips.) This will be shipped by my choice of either UPS Ground Saver or USPS Ground Advantage rate (except for International).
