Here's a fantastic Joe Kubert collectible set that contains a CGC 9.8 copy of Tor #1, a mid-grade raw copy of Tor #1 signed by Kubert, and a handwritten letter by Joe Kubert where he refers to Tor as a future project. In the letter, dated September 7, 1974 and written on his personal letterhead, Kubert writes in the last paragraph, "Tor is going to be published (new) thru NPP, and done by me." Tor #1 hit newsstands in June 1975. Of the graded book there are just 135 copies on the CGC Census and just 34 graded at 9.8--the highest on record. And, of the letter, it's written on 6" x 9" letterhead provided by National Periodical Publications and reads at the top, "From the desk of: Joe Kubert." It retains a nice big signature at the bottom. The paper has slight bends and light mailing folds but is otherwise clean and beautiful. We use The Official CGC Guide to Grading Comics as the baseline for assigning "good faith" grades to raw books.
