This is a rather SCARCE collection of 7 volumes of "Johannes Brahms Briefwechsel (Brahms Letters and Correspondence)," edited by Max Kalbeck. Books were published by Deutschen Brahms-Gesellschaft (German Brahms Society), Berlin (1910-1921). tHIS WAS ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED AS 7 VOLUMES IN 10 BOOK. I AM SELLING ONLY BOOKS I-VII--MISSING ARE VOLUME 8 (WIDMANN), 9 (BRAHMS SINROCK 1), AND, 10 (BRAHMS SINROCK 2). NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A UNIFORM GROUPING-THE INDIVIDUAL BOOKS WERE PUBLISHED AND ACQUIRED IN DIFFERENT YEARS. THERE IS ALSO A MANUFACTURING ERROR THAT MUST BE NOTED--VOLUMES I & II ARE THE 2-VOLUMES OF THE CORRESPONDENCE WITH THE HERZOGENBERG'S. WHILE BOOK 2 IS LABELED AS THE SECOND VOLUME OF THIS CORRESPONDENCE, THE SPINE LETTERING INDICATES THAT IT IS VOLUME I AND NOT VOLUME II. HOWEVER, IT IS THIS IS ACTUALLY VOLUME II OF THIS 10-VOLUME SET. Finding a complete 10-volume set is quite difficult and I am offering 7 of the 10 volumes. Books are clean, unmarked and lightly-worn. Generally in Very Good condition. Books measure 5 7/8 X 8 1/8. My internet research on this set indicates that most of the available sets are incomplete and 4 Volume/8 Books partial sets sell for upwards of $445!!!!!!!!
