Description: This pastel painting of a tree in full autumn color was done by Alabama artist John R. Kelley. The size inside the mat is 4 1/4" by 4 1/4". The drawing has been nicely matted, framed and covered with glass. With the frame it measures 11 1/4 by 11 1/4. (We have another pastel painting by John listed on eBay of a shadowed tree with a vibrant orange background. ) This drawing is in great condition. John Kelley was born in St. Louis but moved to a rural area near Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where he works diligently, producing paintings and drawings of fruit, four seasons landscape, and portraits. Technically very adept, Kelley has kept a low profile. A fun and whimsical website including blog shows many of his works, describes his art philosophy, creative process, (and even includes images of his 100 pound white inspirational dog---Elwood---), as well as the chickens which roam the property.
