Description: John Matassa"School Days”, Limited Edition Vintage Lithographic Print 241/1000, Framed and Matted. John Matassa was originally from Norwich, CT, where he graduated from the Norwich Free Academy. He received a scholarship to the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA graduating with a major in Painting. He went on to receive a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Tufts University. John was a nationally recognized artist and a gifted teacher. He passed away in 2005. This beautiful print features a winter scene depicting a stone school house with 3 children’s sleds and 3 dogs patiently waiting outside of the school house. This print is numbered 241/1000 and is signed by the artist. It has the original certificate of authenticity taped on the back. The frame has some slight surface wear and the back of the frame shows staining to the paper and a small tear. I have shown this in the photos. The print is matted and I do not see any staining on the exposed areas on the front. The measurements of this piece in the frame are approximately 26” from side to side and 22.25” top to bottom.
