Description: This book is a centenarian. It may very well be the only complete one in existence. This awesome children's book has survived at least one World War, perhaps 2. Not to mention Stalin & the Iron Curtain and who knows what other great human tragedies and epic catastrophes. This darling little book. A piece of Russian history and the artfully illustrated delight of any child and certainly many, many children whose ears were enraptured, their minds fascinated, and their eyes glowing as they listened to a story made of things magical and silly, but not impossible, no not ever. Not to the boundless thoughts of children taken away to the Arab deserts or the high seas. I still get carried away myself sometimes as well, but not often enough. O what marvels and mysteries await the children who will carry on with this world which we have made. Whatever the outcome I am happy that this is not where I will stay.
