Description: An incredibly rare autographed headshot / publicity photo of pioneering actor Juanita Moore, only the fifth black actor to be nominated for an academy award. This photo was captured right at the height of her career, the same year she appeared in the film "Imitation of Life." Appears to be a very rare photo -- I haven't found another example with the studio text along the bottom. Inscription reads: "To Carol Sincerely, Juanita Moore." There are some condition issues, including a large block of discoloration on the left bottom corner, discoloration along the left and bottom edges, small creases and folded corners, and it appears the pen used to make the inscription has faded slightly over the years. Luckily there do not appear to be major issues with in the face area, which is quite clear. I suspect some of this could be address by a professional restorer, but that's out of my league. Please review photos carefully and ask any questions before bidding. No authentication has been done and I'm no expert nor making any claim, but I found this photo as part of a collection of 1950s Hollywood ephemera which was put away for 70 years since the original owner collected it, and I have no reason to believe it isn't authentic. Thank you!
