Cover Design of this issue is James Montgumery Flagg. Judge was the competitor of Life magazine and is very similar. It was started by the artists who left Puck Magazine in 1881. Its pedigree is varied including Harold Ross who worked as an editor, but then left in 1925 to start a new magazine called The New Yorker . Judge ceased publishing in 1947.
