Description: This is a June 1968 Marvel Comics Amazing Spider-Man #61 First Gwen Stacy Cover in F/VF Noticeable Defects being slight spine stress, lower left corner impact, a slight back cover stress lines and a tanning back cover and pages. When we last left our intrepid heroes, Captain Stacy was brainwashed by the Kingpin and he's been acting like a royal jerk. All it takes is Gwen confronting him and the brainwashing "wears off," allowing him to tell the truth but this is not without it's own pitfalls as both the cops AND the Kingpin's men are all out to get him so the Stacy's decide to flee. Spidey is also concerned and attempts to help the Stacy's but has to fight off a whole building worth of goons which helps lower his stress level but, since the goons were also brainwashed, it doesn't really get him anywhere. Let's talk about the Osborns for a second. They're all criminal scum. Norman is starting to become the Goblin again, Harry is inept and the whole of Osborn Industries is riddled with Fifth Columnists that are hiding the Kingpin. Speaking of the Kingpin, he wants Spidey and the Stacy's dead and, since his goons caught the Stacy's at the airport, he's gonna get his wish, courtesy of a huge vat of boiling chemical that Osborn Industries just has lying around but the day is saved when Spidey and Norman Osborn (?!) rush in and start cleaning house. The Kingpin escapes, Captain Stacy is exonerated and everyone is happy except Gwen because she's a miserable person. The Amazing Spider-Man #61 grades in Fine/Very Fine condition which means it's been loved but not to any great degree. It's Noticeable Defects are some slight spine stress ans wear, there's an impact on the lower left spine corner as well as some stress lines on the back cover, which is also beginning to tan like the pages. The comic is in pretty great condition with the colors really representing well. It represents on the shelf very nicely. It's also something of a minor Milestone being the first time Gwen gets to be on the cover. It would be the toast of any collection and a fantastic reading experience. A Note About Comics: Though we have many years of comic book experience, we are not professional graders and comic book grading is a very subjective thing. Professional outfits like CGC state that if you were to submit the same book multiple times for grading it would not necessarily receive the same grade because everyone sees something different. That being said, we've attempted to err on the side of caution. Our grades, in the majority of cases, are at least a half grade lower than what we feel they actually are to make sure anyone who orders from us is happy with their purchase. The grades were determined using Overstreet's comic book grading guide as well as the Ebay comic book grading guide. The prices were determined using the Online Comic Price Guide and Comic Book Realm's excellent price guide to reflect the entire range of pricing differences.
