Inspired by his hometown artist Kiyoshi Kobayakawa, he studied painting of beautiful women under Terukata Ikeda, Yamato-e under Ryusaki Tsutaya, and later under Shinsui Ito. He was selected for the Teiten Exhibition in 1926, and was selected for the Kanten Exhibition thereafter.This is a work of beauty painting probably from the Taisho and early Showa periods.The overall size of the hanging scroll's cover = 197 cm (length) X 54 cm (width). The painting measures 124.5 cm (length) x 40 cm (width).The work is bound in silk and comes with a matching box.The condition of the hanging scroll's cover (cloth other than the painting) is almost good for its age. If you look closely, there may be some age-related changes. Condition of the painting: Fair for its age. Minor stains, minor scuffing, minor foxing, and other minor signs of age.
