Description: This auction is for the following autographed 4x6 photograph of Dr. Don Curtis: BIO: Dr. Don Curtis Parkland Hospital Trauma Room #1 who cared for President John F. Kennedy. Dr. Curtis an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in his first year of residency at Parkland Hospital on November 22nd, 1963 was walking down the hall when he was approached by a policeman who asked him “Are you a doctor? Hurry, come with me.’” In a matter of seconds the young Dr. Curtis was in Trauma Room 1 with Dr. Charles Carrico and a nurse futilely attempting to save the life of President John F. Kennedy. Dr. Curtis unbuttoned Kennedy’s bloody shirt and saw what he was certain was a bullet entrance wound in the pretracheal area of the throat. There was large swelling and blood on the president’s neck “I pulled the president’s pants leg up and saw a piece of his brain and that gave me a clue his prognosis was not good,” Dr. Curtis stated. Shortly after Dr. Kemp Clark, a neurosurgeon who’d been working on President Kennedy. He pulled up the president’s head to examine the back. Then Dr. Clark stated the words that will always stay with Dr. Curtis “He said, ‘Stop. Stop resuscitation. This is incompatible with life.’” At this point Dr. Curtis a first year resident thought it best to excuse himself from Trauma Room #1 and recalled Jackie standing at the exit. On March 24th, 1964 Dr. Curtis was interviewed by Arlen Specter for the Warren Commission. THIS IS AN AUTHENTIC HAND AUTOGRAPHED 4x6 PHOTOGRAPH. I ONLY SELL AUTHENTIC HAND AUTOGRAPHED MEMORABILIA.
