Description: The Kidde i1040 is a 10-year sealed battery ionization smoke alarm with alarm memory and Hush® functionality. Sealed Lithium Battery – Sealed lithium battery; no battery replacement is required during the alarm’s 10-year lifespan. No need to worry about battery removal or unauthorized deactivation of the alarm. Self-Activation – The alarm automatically activates once it is mounted to the mounting bracket. Alarm Memory – A rapidly flashing LED alerts the user if the alarm has sounded since the last time the test/reset button was used. Will temporarily silence nuisance alarms and will not allow Hush® mode to activate unless the unit is in alarm mode. The i1040 alarm automatically activates when mounted to the mounting bracket; no pull tabs, no switches, everything is automatic. When the unit is low on power (approximately 10 years after power is applied), it will chirp to indicate that the alarm needs to be replaced. The customer can deactivate the unit with a simple tool such as a screwdriver to stop the low battery chirp and make it safe for disposal. The sealed onboard battery will power the i1040 unit for up to 10 years. Never need to change batteries. This alarm uses ionization sensing technology. Ionization sensing alarms can detect invisible flame particles (associated with open flames) faster than photoelectric alarms. Photoelectric sensing alarms can detect visible particles (associated with smoldering) faster than ionization alarms. Test/Hush® Button – Tests the circuit operation of the device and resets the memory after an alarm condition occurs.
