Description: Thick KILIM tapestry rug which was brought over to the USA in1950 by my grandfather when he was emigrating from war torn Ukraine after WWII. It dates back to the early 1920's as was attested by my mother, but I have no proof nor provenance to support her claim. It has NEVER been a floor rug and as is seen in family photos was always hanging on the wall in their home in Ukraine.It was never used at all after being brought to the USA, and has been in a wooden chest all these decades.Thick supple wool. Handmade.Odorless, vivid colors, fully intact, not moth eaten nor worn down in any way. It is a gorgeous heavy Kilim which appears as if it were just crafted.Please take note of the fringe on the rug.
