King George V & Queen Mary Coronation (1911)

Description: *** I SHIP TO ADDRESSES IN THE USA ONLY *** This lovely Pottery Mug was manufactured by Booth's to commemorate the CORONATION of THEIR MAJESTIES KING GEORGE V AND QUEEN MARY in 1911. The decal transfer, in teal green, depicts two of the royal residences separated by th3e combined image of the King and Queen. On one side is Windsor Castle, where at the bottom is "PRESENTED BY THE MARQUIS OF LINLITHGOW". On the other side is the Scottish royal residence (in Edinburgh) of Holyrood Palace. The combined images of the King and Queen is surrounded by the national flowers, a crown, and the commemoration, "KING GEORGE V AND QUEEN MARY CROWNED JUNE 22ND 1911". Around the upper rim is a decal transfer of a laurel, also in navy blue, with a banner that is interwoven in the laurel, on which the commemoration is shown as, "KING GEORGE V AND QUEEN MARY CROWNED AT WESTMINSTER ABBEY JUNE 22ND 1911". (*) (ONE CHIP, ONE HAIRLINE) At the bottom of the handle is a faint hairline crack next to a chip that is on the mug. The underside is back-stamped with the Booth's logo and manufacturing information. There is crazing on this mug, in some areas a little more pronounced. Nonetheless, the mug displays beautifully. This piece is in VERY GOOD CONDITION. This will be a delightful addition to your collection. There is no original box or certificate of authenticity.
