Description: Description This magnificent cross necklace reminds me of a Heidi Daus design, or even a piece by Joel Rosenthal (JAR), but it is indeed by our favorite, Kenneth Jay Lane. The cross shape is somewhat Celtic or Eastern Orthodox in shape, but regardless of what it might mean to you, it is truly a breathtaking piece. The metal throughout is dark grey gunmetal, which allows the intense colors of the stones visually to the forefront. The cross and oversized bale measures 3-5/8" long x 2-1/2" wide. It is set with THE most brilliant, intense-colored Swarovski crystals that I have ever seen in a single Kenneth Jay Lane piece. The stones are all faceted and hand-set, and they range in shades from pink, fuchsia, amethyst, ruby, neon orange, emerald, peridot, citrine, topaz, and probably more. At each of the scalloped edges of the cross, it is completely outlined with clear crystals, and the edges of the cross all the way around have a fine milgrain finish that is barely detectible, but incredibly wonderful. The chain is remarkable unto itself, and is a lovely tight link rolo style which is very strong, and perfectly balances the weight of the cross pendant. The chain measures 28" long and closes with an oversized lobster claw and figure-eight clasp. Brand new, signed copyright KJL, and will come in the original red KJL logo'd box, along with the sleeper bag.
