Author Biography Maricela Martínez, nació en Santiago, RepÚblica Dominicana. Estudió Lenguas Modernas, mención inglesa en la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, UASD. En 1990 emigró a la ciudad de Nueva York, donde obtuvo un grado asociado en Artes Liberales en Hostos Community College. En el 2012 ganó el concurso de cuentos del Taller Literario del Comisionado Dominicano de Cultura, con "La Isla de ensueño"; que aparece en su segundo libro Los Ojos del cuervo, publicado en el 2013. En el 2015 ganó el concurso del taller literario con el poema "Destierro". Además, publicó el libro infantil Los ojos del cuervo en versión inglés y español. En el 2017 ganó el concurso del taller literario con el poema "Abismos despiadados y el cuento "El regalo perfecto" Le gusta la pintura y todo lo relacionado con el arte, ha escrito otros cuentos y poesías, aun inéditos.
