Description: ladies DESK with CHAIR, - circa 1890 Chippendale / Colonial Revival - RJ Horner, New York City, - highest grade fiddle-back mahogany, - excellent fan inlays of abalone mother of pearl (green and white pearl), satinwood, - deep carved fan and scrolled leaves across scrolled skirt, - deep cabriole legs with - well-carved ball and claw feet, - brass and wood gallery, - slant lid writing surface with mechanical slide out supports, - fitted interior with drawer and pen rests, - with original key. CHAIR: associated to desk, - circa 1890 Art Nouveau, - original obscured manufacturing label, - mahogany, - very similar inlaid green and white abalone mother of pearl in - Classical urn, daisies and various circles, - with satinwood scrolls, - fanned spindles, - heart-shaped double dished seat, - cabriole legs. Desk – 39.5” tall, 28” wide, 18” deep. Writing height- 27.5”. Chair – 385” tall, 16.5” wide, 17” deep. Seat height- 18”.
