Description: I have for sale a 1935 Delegate ribbon for the Ladies of the Grand Army Of The Republic, the Department of Pennsylvania. The L. of G.A.R. is a congressionally chartered non-profit organization, and is the oldest women's hereditary organization in the U.S. The original objectives of the organization included promotion of patriotism and loyalty to the Union and participation in community service, especially for the aid of our veterans and their dependents. Their objectives today are still the same, with great emphasis on promotion of patriotism, education and preservation of history. This red and silver ribbon is four inches long. This ribbon looks to be in original condition. The top pin back metal name plate reads DELEGATE. On the ribbon it reads DEPARTMENT - OF PENNA. - LADIES - OF THE - G.A.R. - REPRESENTATIVE - GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. 1935. Not sure if this is a L.
