Description: Large Belemnite Phragmocone from the Yorkshire Coast, Whitby, UK. Approximately 180 million years old.Belemnites are from an extinct squid, of which this would have been its internal skeleton, which was comprised of a cone. This specimen is rather large in size and has been prepared by me. There is some crushing and distortion in the widest part, but otherwise the specimen is in great shape, has some lovely color, and sits nicely in the nodule. This specimen would make a wonderful display piece for anyone’s collection. The nodule itself is 1.5” tall, 4” wide, and 3” deep. The belemnite itself is 2” wide at its widest point. This is the exact specimen you will receive and it will be well packaged and posted within 48 hours of payment. Please message with questions.Thank you for looking.
