Description: This is a fully polished and cabochon shaped piece of Burmite (Burmese) amber that contains a large fly from the Cretaceous Period. This insect was on the Earth when dinosaurs including T-Rex and Triceratop still walked! Please mouse over or click on images to see a larger view. The piece itself weighs 2.9 grams with dimensions of 3 cm length by 2.45 cm width and 0.4 cm height. NOTE: 2.54 cm is 1 inch. Please see my feedback. This piece is genuine amber formed over millions of years of polymerization. Burmite (Burmese) amber is difficult to acquire and has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the dinosaurs and is being mined in the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar (Burma).NOTE: I have been selling Burmite (Burmese) amber for years on eBay.
