Description: Up for sale is a fantastic, beautifully designed, textured, LARGE oil on canvas by Stanley Sobossek. It is titled "Edge of Town" and is titled and signed by the artist on the back of the canvas. Stanely Sobossek (1918-1996) was born in New York and began working with oils during the middle of the 20th century. He was a NY native and exhibited an won the 1st prize at NYC "Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit" in September 1955 for his oil painting titled "Mechanic Street, New Hope, PA", an exhibition dating to 1931. The oil painting is professionally framed. The frame is approximately 47" x 38". The actual design is approximately 43" x 33". There are some nicks and chips along the edges of the frame. Generally, the painting is in Good Condition. However, there is a cut on the canvas towards the left side of the painting (see photo), otherwise it is in good shape. It is a beautiful piece - an excellent investment and a superb example of this great artist's work - a perfect piece for any collector! Other small dings here and there.
